A TASTE OF SRI LANKA IN SURREY…
Posted by Anthony Besant on 18 Sep 2026
Recently were very lucky to be invited along by Manny’s Kitchen to their Sri Lankan Supper Club at The Grape Variety in Chipstead and it was so lovely to see the place buzzing with people.
The supper club is a multi-course feast of authentic Sri Lankan flavours, with a mix of vegetarian and meat dishes. The best bit? There are no difficult menu decisions to make — it’s all set for you, so you can sit back, enjoy the evening and try a little bit of everything.
We started with Lamb Wadey and Michi Wadey, delicious street-food-style fritters packed with flavour and a great way to kick things off.
Then came the main event and there was a lot of it! We had a fantastic selection of prawn, chicken and vegetable curries, all served with fried rice, dhal, beetroot curry, green beans, Malay pickle and a coconut, watercress and mint sambol. So many different flavours, textures and combinations to try, and everything worked so well together.
And just when we thought we couldn’t manage another bite, out came the mango cheesecake – light, sweet and the perfect way to finish.
We left very full and very happy!
If you missed this one, keep your eyes peeled for the next Manny’s Kitchen Supper Club definitely one to add to the list if you fancy trying something a little different.
