A Day Out at Godstone Farm with Stanley #REVIEW…
Posted by Jack Percival on 02 Aug 2025
I don’t often get full days with Stanley, so it was a delight to get to spend the day at Godstone Farm. He’s six now and full of energy, questions, and always on the move so I knew we were in for a proper adventure.

The farm didn’t disappoint. From the moment we arrived, Stanley was buzzing. We headed straight to see the animals, and his absolute favourites were the meerkats. He stood there for ages watching them dart about like little furry ninjas. Then we moved on to the reptile centre which was a big hit too especially the snakes, which he now thinks he wants as a pet. Not happening, mate!
After the animals, we explored the dinosaur trail. I thought it would just be a nice walk, but Stanley blew me away he knew the names of pretty much every dinosaur we passed. From triceratops to stegosaurus, he was reeling them off like a little paleontologist. I was just walking behind him smiling, pretending I remembered them all too!
After all the excitement, we had a bit of chill time in the soft play. He ran wild in there while I took the rare opportunity to sit down and enjoy a proper coffee from the farm’s cafe.
We finished up with some time in the outdoor playground. By that point, Stanley was a mix of tired and overexcited. which, of course, made the gift shop at the end very interesting. He didn’t want to leave (standard), and let’s just say there was a bit of a tantrum. But once we were on the train he crashed out, completely knackered.
All in all, it was a fantastic day. I don’t get as many of these moments with Stanley as I’d like, so when they do come around, I really try to soak it all up.
