A COVID CHRISTMAS – 9 CHRISTMAS EVENTS TO GO TO…
Posted by Francesca De Franco on 15 Oct 2020
Although this festive season is likely to be rather different under the circumstances there are still plenty of places to get your jingle on / see Father Christmas. I’ve picked a few out below:
Turners Hill Rd, Crawley RH10 4PE
Dates: November 28th until Christmas Eve
Tulleys has tweaked its previously advertised Christmas experience to make it even safer. Tickets are now on sale for the Tulleys Drive In Christmas Show.
Tulleys is renowned for its experiences from its Halloween Festivals and EscapeRooms to its summer park. The Drive In Christmas Show will be set within the woodland grounds of the farm and is billed as a pantomime, Christmas film and Christmas show all rolled into one.
Visitors can take part in interactive games, a car gameshow and festive singalongs. Your own gingerbread kit is delivered to your car (Mother Christmas even provides a decorating tutorial) by one of the elves as is a build a bear kit. Children can write a note to Santa, all with the help of Father Christmas’ postmaster, which will be posted all the way to the North Pole and Father Christmas will share a magical story and give a special gift to all the children.
There is also the Christmas Diner where you order your Christmas-inspired food on your device and it’s delivered directly to your car.
Leatherhead Rd, Chessington KT9 2NE
Dates: Selected dates from 5th December – 3rd January
Celebrate Christmas at Chessington where you can meet Father Christmas, enjoy a selection of rides and visit the animals at Chessington’s zoo and SEA LIFE Centre.
Tickets will be available soon for a day visit but you can currently book the indulgent-sounding The Father Christmas Sleepover package. This includes a one-night stay, a two-day entry into the zoo and SEA LIFE centre as well as selected rides and attractions plus:
- Meeting Father Christmas in his magical Grotto
- Animal meet & greets
- Entertainment with a Christmas twist
Having recently visited CWOA, I can vouch for the fact they’re very on it with regards to Covid safety.

Father Christmas returns to Bocketts Farm from 26th November to 24th December. Children will get the chance to meet Father Christmas at the countryside museum’s annual Santa specials. Still a bit of a work-in-progress, keep an eye for further details at: https://rural-life.org.uk/events/santa-specials.
In the current climate I’d advise checking back on the sites regularly for updates, because as we all know the situation with Covid can change rapidly.
Ho, ho, ho!
