With the sun now making a regular appearance here is a pick of some of the wonderful local al fresco drinking and dining venues:

Ciao Italia

This family-run restaurant has been serving an extensive menu of classic dishes for over twenty years. As well as very large, elegant indoor dining rooms, it has a lovely outdoor pergola section (with good heating if it gets a bit chilly).

The Well House Inn

The Well House Inn is a gorgeous country pub steeped in history with relaxed elegance and delightful quirks of 15th century England. It has a stunning garden overlooking the beautiful greens of Chipstead.

The Derby Arms

Mayfield Lavender Farm

Mayfield’s lavender fields re-open on Saturday, 15th June. As well as the beautiful lavender there is a licensed al fresco café selling a delicious range of light lunches. You can also grab an ice cream and one of its famous lavender cream teas. Look out for themed evenings throughout the summer.

Fusion restaurant and cocktail bar Rocksalt boasts a stylish ‘secret garden,’ which is spacious but retains an intimate feel. Part of the outside seating area has a heating system so perfect if the temperature drops.

The Woodman

The Woodman is set in a really picturesque location just outside of Banstead. It is a really family- and dog-friendly pub with a large garden compete with children’s playground to the rear. Currently its outside bar is open and there’s the added bonus of a bouncy castle!
